Does anyone know about any African American heritage with the surname of DANIEL? I know some folk have this last name that live in Detroit, Michigan, but am looking to trace back to find When and Where this non black surname began. Does anyone know if that name came from a non African slave holder that those who worked for took the last name of? Or did a non Black DANIEL man have a liason or marriage to a Black woman and then those part African American descendants came into this last name in that fashion?
