Newspaper Clippings
“This catagory is for scanned images of clippings from old newspapers (1800s-1960s) that are of any of the following: engagement/marriage/birth announcements; obituraries; wedding anniversaries; party announcements or social register articles or society page news; as well as, news stories about one’s ancestor (for example….if someone wrote about your seafaring forebear who successfully captained a boat around the world, or the paper wrote about your ancestress achieving some special position in the working world,etc.,etc.) Also “clippings” from newspapers talking about a particular town or homestead of your ancestor’s, or any articles relevent to family history can be submitted to this catagory”.
