Want to know if anyone has solved the confusing mixup between the McDANIEL and McDONALD clans of Boubon county, KY? Seek MALE descendants of the latter William Alexander McDonald family, who married Rachel Burdon, in KY then in 1822 went to Vernon and Seymour towns, in Jackson county, Indiana, to do a y-line surname DNA test of, to determine IF our McDONALD group are SAME As the McDANIELS in same area, same years and who had same names. It seems BOTH groups USED the McDONALD and McDANIEL Last names INTER-Changeably, so causes quite a problem in separating who is with which group! Any contact with McDONALDs or McDANIELS males surnamed either, still today, who are directly down from (William) Alexander and Rachel (nee Burden/don)McDonald / McDaniel are gladly heard from!
